A feature film following a forensic photographer facing his own death.
Obscura follows Herm Barber, a forensic photographer slipping into death, who begins to suspect the crime scenes he documents are connected to his own forgotten past. As he retraces a trail of photographs, a murdered wife, and a daughter who may still be alive, reality fractures into the negatives he once developed, and Herm must decide whether what he’s remembering is truth or madness.

After the death of his wife, Freya, Herm wanders back into his old job as a forensic photographer to fill the void she left. Though, he catches himself in a case that is more personal than he could have ever imagined.

In many ways, Aidan is a young protege of Herm. A detective with a wife and child at home, he leads the investigation into the murders occurring, led by Herm’s own personal experience to the case.

An arsonist killer who wraps himself in surgical clothes to hide his identity. His relationship and obsession with death seems to test Herm’s own obsessive qualities.
